Pedestrian hit by truck on WSU campus

From Staff Reports

A 51-year-old woman was hit by a truck at about noon Tuesday in a Spokane Street crosswalk near Dana Hall.

Senior civil engineering major Casey Felz was the first to respond.

“I was facing the other direction, and all of a sudden I heard her scream,” Felz said. “She flew a good six to 10 feet.”

Felz immediately ran to the woman’s side to provide assistance before another man stepped in.

The victim was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital. Rachael Trost, a producer for Murrow News 8, said she was complaining of hip and arm pain.

WSU Police aided the victim and controlled traffic before the ambulance arrived.
