[Update: The Whitman County Prosecutor’s office will not be filing charges against Hongfei Lin and the case has been dropped.]
A WSU associate professor was arrested for a fourth-degree assault at his home on Saturday night in southeast Pullman.
Hongfei Lin, chemical engineering and bioengineering associate professor, was arrested at about 8 p.m. for throwing a round lip balm container at his wife after an argument.
Pullman Police Commander Chris Tennant said Lin’s wife was in pain and it left a red mark on her back.
WSU administrators have no comment on the matter at this time.
