Man crashes sister’s car, ends up lost by Albion

From staff reports

The Whitman County Sheriff’s office received report of a vehicle in a ditch on Old Albion Road on Feb. 1.

Deputies and emergency personnel arrived on scene and found the vehicle was vacant and the registration, naming Rachel Rogers as the owner, didn’t match that of local areas, according to a Whitman County Sheriff’s office press release.

After a cell phone number was located, deputies called in regards to the accident. Rachel Rogers told the officers she had lent her brother, Jeremy Rogers, her car.

When the officers contacted Jeremy Rogers, through a number provided by his sister, Jeremy informed them that he indeed crashed the car and had been walking ever since, according to the press release.

He was uncertain of his location and a poor cellphone signal cut off communication.

A search was implemented using snowmobiles in pursuit of Jeremy Roger’s footprints. Jeremy was found a quarter mile east of Albion at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

His license has been suspended through Idaho, according to the press release.
