February 2, 2017
The National Women’s History month marks the declaration of WSU’s Women-of-Distinction and Women-of-the-Year awards.
The awardees appointed to the distinction awards include an alumna, a faculty member, a staff member, a student (undergraduate or graduate) and a woman unaffiliated with WSU, according to a news release.
Each awardee is eligible for the Woman-of-the-Year award, according to the to the Women-of-Distinction website. Nominations and self-nominations will be accepted from all WSU campuses and locations until the deadline on Feb. 10.
Qualification requires the women to be significantly involved in each of their social communities in and around WSU.
The award selection process and coordination is run by the President’s Commission on the Status of the Women at WSU.
The award will be presented on March 8, in the CUB Carey Senior Ballroom.
Awardees will be announced in WSU News, and news releases will be made to regional newspapers around five days before the event, according to the website.
