The WSU women’s golf team returns to action for the Stanford Intercollegiate on Friday through Sunday at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, California.
This will be the Cougars third tournament and they look to improve after finishing fourth in the CDA Resort Collegiate Invitational on Sept 24.
Head coach Kelli Kamimura said the team’s confidence grew during the first two tournaments.
“In the Cougar Cup, that was a really great event to show we can compete against the top teams in the country, and in Coeur d’Alene there was a lot of growth moments in focusing on the outcome rather than stuff we can’t control,” said Kamimura, “We are excited to take in what we have learned and bring it when we go to Stanford.”
Sophomore Darcy Habgood said she is looking forward to building off how she finished in Coeur d’Alene and learning from mistakes.
“We’ve identified a few mistakes, which is good, and I think over this weekend we can learn from them and start playing well together at the same time,” said Habgood.
The Stanford Intercollegiate will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday with 36 holes. The tournament will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
