COLFAX—Authorities from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of a St. John woman which occurred last weekend.

Deputies responded at about 12:20 p.m. Saturday to a report of a deceased female near 9801 Rock Lake Road, according to a report by Sheriff Brett Myers.

Upon arrival deputies located a body with what appeared to be a gunshot wound on her head, the report indicated. Initial findings and evidence suggest the wounds are consistent with self-infliction.

The investigation is ongoing and additional interviews are being conducted.

The Sheriff’s Office is waiting for an exact cause and manner of death determination from the Whitman County Coroner’s Office.

The decedent has been identified as Tiffany Marie Brennan, 44, of St. John.
