The Modernization Initiative campus-tour forums were rescheduled from February to later in the spring. The organizers are taking the time to focus on the project, according to a WSU Insider press release.

The Initiative is a project at WSU that handles finances, including payroll and post-award grant administration, the human resources systems and administration software.

Since 1980, WSU has used a system called Administrative Information Systems (AIS) to support the core processes. Despite software updates and improved with technical resources the system is not able to meet WSU’s modern news, according to the Modernization project’s website.

By July 2020, Workday will replace AIS to alleviate some of the administration pressures faced by faculty. Workday includes benefits such as real-time reporting, standardized and streamlined business processes and minimizing administrative work for faculty.
