WSU PD starting relocation to new police station

The WSU Police Department is beginning its move into the new Public Safety Building on Grimes Way today, during which the current station on across from Martin Stadium will remain open.

The old office will maintain its business hours on Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and officers will continue to respond to dispatch, according to a news release. The move will not cause any interruption in services.

WSU Police Chief Bill Gardner has said the relocation will not affect police operations on campus and that he feels the department will adapt quickly to the change.

The Museum of Art will expand into the old station, developing five new art galleries in the building. Work on the expansion is estimated to begin in October.
