Man dies in Moscow shooting

MOSCOW – A man died Sunday after receiving multiple gunshots to the chest in a mobile home at 1751 N. Polk St. Extension.

Police responded at 12:54 p.m. to a report by the woman who owns the mobile home and was present at the time of the incident.

Chief David Duke of the Moscow Police Department said the male suspect was detained without incident shortly after officers arrived with assistance from the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect is currently under questioning, Duke said.

The Moscow Volunteer Ambulance Service transported the victim to Gritman Regional Medical Center, where he died shortly after arrival.

Duke said police are awaiting a warrant to enter the mobile home and conduct an investigation.

An eye witness told Big Country News Connection multiple firearms were taken from the residence. Duke said no weapons were confiscated.

Neighbors reported hearing a gunshot but nothing more.

Police have not released any names or ages.
