ASWSU appoints administrative assistant, ESA co-chair

From staff reports

The 45th Senate of the Associated Students of Washington State University unanimously appointed Logan Dozier as the Senate’s administrative assistant yesterday at their weekly meeting.

Complications arose during the first round of voting, when one of the 14 present senators did not vote in favor of Dozier’s appointment. With six of the 20 senators absent for voting, a unanimous vote had to be reached in order to fulfill the two-thirds voting requirement.

Had the senator not changed their vote, the position would have reopened for another two week application period, and would have left the Senate without an administrative assistant for two more weeks.

Dozier, a junior strategic communication major, previously served as the associated director of legislative affairs and assistant director of student life for ASWSU.

The administrative assistant is tasked with collecting notes during senate meetings, which primarily consists of typing out what is said word for word.

The senate also unanimously appointed Alysha Bethune as the co-chair of the Environmental Sustainability Alliance, alongside current chair Matthew Vanderlinden.
