Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Power Rankings – Week 4

WSU remains No. 11 for third week, Huskies bypass Oregon teams to secure No. 1 rank

January 29, 2019

  1. Washington (Last: 1)

Washington continues to prove they are the class of the Pac-12, handling Oregon and Oregon State on last week’s road trip.  The Huskies face off against second-ranked USC next week before heading across LA to play UCLA.

  1. USC (Last: 6)

USC catapulted from sixth to second this week, the largest jump this season, by taking care of Arizona and Arizona State at home. The Trojans face a difficult test on Thursday when they host Washington before they take a breather and play WSU.

  1. Utah (Last: 7)

Utah beat up two teams in the bottom of the league, sweeping aside Cal and Stanford in their Bay Area swing. Utah has a great chance to pick up two more league wins next week, as they host the Oregon teams.

  1. Arizona State (Last: 3)

The Sun Devils stood pat this week after finishing 1-1, falling to the surging USC and pulling away from UCLA. Arizona State will take on the Wildcats starting Thursday

  1. Arizona (Last: 2)

Arizona fell hard this week, getting swept away by UCLA and USC, falling three spots in the rankings, the largest drop this season. U of A faces a tough test next week in their rivalry game with Arizona State.

  1. Oregon State (Last: 4)

An unimpressive win over WSU and a loss to UW dropped the Beavs down the list. A tough Mountain swing is on the docket next for OSU.

  1. UCLA (Last: 5)

The Bruins split with the Arizona schools last week, falling to ASU and defeating U of A. UCLA takes their Northwest swing next week to play the Washington squads.

  1. Oregon (Last: 8)

The Ducks failed to make a statement last week, falling to UW and defeating the Cougs. Road trips to Colorado and Utah are up next for Oregon.

  1. Stanford (Last: 9)

A home split to Utah and Colorado left the Cardinal at No. 9. Stanford plays Cal next Sunday.

  1. Colorado (Last: 10)

A win over bottom-ranked Cal and a loss to meddling Stanford kept the Buffs firmly in the 10-spot. Colorado hosts Oregon and Oregon State in a tough home stand next week.

  1. WSU (Last: 11)

The Cougs had another horrible week, kicked off with a 90-77 defeat to OSU and capped with a 78-58 loss to the Ducks, a game that featured a 43-19 second-half score. WSU, now 1-6 in conference play, continues to waste away in what are hopefully the final days of the Ernie Kent era. WSU hosts the Los Angeles teams next week.

  1. Cal (Last: 12)

After whippings at the hands of Utah and Colorado, Cal still searches for their first conference win. The Golden Bears will continue their search for a win with a rivalry game against Stanford this Sunday.
