A real swingin’ Valentine’s dance
8 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Ensminger Pavilion, the WSU Young Farmers and Ranchers will host a Valentine’s dance

The WSU chapter of Young Farmers and Ranchers is hosting their Swingin’ Sweetheart Dance at 8:00 p.m. tonight in Ensminger Pavilion.
Hallie Jo Galbreath, president of YF&R, said the club hosts a swing dance at least once per semester, but this is the first time it has had a Valentine’s theme.
“Getting members together for an event that’s not focused on school or professional development, but just a way to get to enjoy each other’s company in a more casual setting is really fun for everybody,” Galbreath said.
Many of the people who attend the YF&R dances are good at Country Swing and willing to teach others, she said.
“That’s probably my favorite part about it,” Galbreath said. “Getting to watch people try something new that I am so familiar with.”
Galbreath said the dance is a fundraiser for club members to attend the American Farm Bureau Federation YF&R Leadership Conference in Louisville, KY.
Seven students from WSU are going to the conference this year, which is the most representation WSU has had there in about seven years, Galbreath said.
People of all skill levels and majors are welcome at the dance. It costs $5 to enter.
“You don’t have to be an agriculture major or affiliate at all,” Galbreath said. “There’s something for everybody.”
