Pullman-based Hills Church has purchased 1085 SE Bishop Blvd., formerly Village Centre Cinemas. The theater closed in September 2024 and the property was purchased by Hills Church for $3 million in December 2025, according to local records.
Hills Church is a non-denominational Christian church founded in 2012 by a delegation from the Bellevue-based Blue Sky Church, according to their website. The church has been an active part of the Pullman community since their founding.
“We believe that part of our devotion to God includes helping those who are in need and less fortunate than ourselves. At Hills, we believe that every Christian should cultivate a heart of helping those who are in need,” the church says on its website. “In addition to the church being taught to live out their faith in this way, to help in our local community, Hills collects and donates food and other resources to Pullman’s Community Action Center.”
The property was previously owned by Village Centre Cinemas LLC, a single-entity LLC owned and operated by Pullman-based Corporate Pointe Developers, which operates three other Village Centre Cinemas, each under their own LLC.
The Pullman Village Centre Cinemas location closed in 2024 after 21 years of operation due to economic struggles, including Pullman’s admissions tax, increasing property taxes and rising statewide minimum wage.
