Whitman County confirms one death, 88 new COVID-19 cases

County has running total of 2,989 COVID-19 cases

Whitman County confirmed one new COVID-19-related death on Jan. 15, which brings the county’s total number of deaths to 34.

From Jan. 9-15, 88 individuals tested positive for COVID-19. This raises Whitman County’s total number of cases to 2,989, according to press releases from the Whitman County Emergency Operations Center.

Of the new cases, eight females and seven males are aged 0-19 years. Twenty-two females and 20 males are aged 20-39 years. Seven females and six males are aged 40-59 years. Eight females and five males are aged 60-79 years. Five females are over the age of 80, according to the press releases.

As of Jan. 15, a total of 74 people have been hospitalized in the county, according to the Whitman County Public Health website.

All other patients are stable and self-isolating. Residents are reminded to wear masks and practice social distancing.
