Neill Public Library announced Friday it will lift COVID-19 restrictions and reopen on July 6 with longer hours.

The library will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Previously, the library was open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, according to a library press release.

The library’s extended hours allow guests more time to interact with the library in ways that were not possible in the past year. Guests will have access to reading areas, lounge spaces and task tables, according to the release.

Previous curbside options at the library will be limited as in-person use of the library is encouraged, according to the release.

Vaccinated guests are not required to wear a mask or follow social distancing guidelines. According to the release, unvaccinated guests will still have to wear masks and social distance unless under two years of age.

The library has not decided if computers and meeting rooms will need to be reserved in advance, according to the press release.
