WSU’s Academic Success and Career Center is hosting a Student Employment Job Fair from 1-3 p.m. Aug. 17 on Glenn Terrell Mall.

Information booths for both on and off-campus employers will be set up along the mall for students, said Alena Hume, ASCC student employment coordinator.

Hume said she encourages students to bring copies of their resumes and cover letters to give to employers.

“They’re really looking to hire hundreds of students,” she said. “There’s just a lot of different departments.”

Similar to previous years, ASCC expects around 20 campus employers to register for the event. Some participating departments include University Recreation, Dining and Facilities, Hume said.

This is the first year the fair will include off-campus employers as well, she said.

“There’ll be tables and the students will be able to just walk around,” Hume said. “Employers will probably have swag on their tables and will be accepting resumes on the spot.”

ASCC is now accepting employer registration applications for the job fair.
