Mary Jo Gonzales will retire from her position as vice president of Student Affairs on Nov. 15. 

Gonzales has been on leave since Sept. 1, according to a WSU Insider article

Gonzales has served as Vice President since 2017. She led 22 departments and over 500 staff members in the Division of Student Affairs, according to the article.

Gonzales received a master’s degree in communication and a doctoral degree in education from WSU, according to the Division of Student Affairs website

Ellen Taylor, formerly the senior associate vice president of student engagement, has been serving as interim vice president of Student Affairs in Gonzales’s absence, according to an Insider article from Sept. 3.
