Free at-home COVID-19 testing kits are now available to Whitman County residents through the Say Yes! COVID Test program.

The test kits are available for order on the Say Yes! COVID Test website, according to a press release on the Whitman County Public Health website.

Starting Dec. 6, test kits will also be available for pickup at the following Whitman County Rural Library District locations: Colfax, Albion, Colton, Endicott, Farmington, Garfield, LaCrosse, Malden, Oakesdale, Palouse, Rosalia, St. John, Tekoa and Uniontown.

Residents who are at high risk for COVID-19 or are not fully vaccinated need access to more tools to help slow the spread of the virus, wrote Dr. Brad Bowman, Whitman County Health Officer, in the press release.

Tests require swabs of the inside of the nose and results can be read in 10 minutes. A free app is also available to help users with each step, according to the release. The test kits are approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
