Refa Al-Amri, Middle Eastern Student Association president, updated ASWSU senators on the group’s Middle Eastern Night, which is at 5:30 p.m. on March 4 in the Compton Union Building Senior Ballroom.

The event will include international cuisine, cultural dancing, Arabic calligraphy, henna tattoos and an informational exhibition, she said.

Last spring, the club organized a grab-and-go Ramadan event that provided Muslim members of the community with a meal to break their fast. The club prepared 100 meals for the event, and Al-Amri said she was happy to say all were handed out.

Last semester the club hosted a lunch to introduce their new council members, she said.

Al-Amri said the group hopes to bring more awareness to their club this semester.

All-Campus Senator Nikolai Sublett updated the senate on the progress of his bylaws.

Sublett said he has reached out to Cougar Safe Rides about providing transportation to Pullman Regional Hospital and is hoping to meet with them soon. He is also organizing a larger meeting regarding the emergency contraceptive vending machine.
