WSU student dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday morning

Deandre Hunter was transported to hospital after receiving first aid; Pullman PD detectives conduct investigation

Deandre Hunter, 25, was pronounced dead on Friday after sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his abdomen in the parking lot of Pimlico Apartments. 

Pullman police officers responded to the call at 2:05 a.m. and found Hunter at 1455 NE Brandi Way, according to a Pullman Police Department news release

Responding officers provided first aid until the Pullman Fire Department paramedics arrived, according to the news release. They transported Hunter to Pullman Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Pullman PD detectives recovered a handgun from the scene and are conducting an investigation, according to the news release. They do not believe there is a threat to public safety and will release more information when it is available.
