After a single prop aircraft crashed at Washington State Route 26 around 2 p.m., its single occupant sustained serious injuries.

Life Flight Network arrived at the scene to transport the pilot about one hour later, and the Federal Aviation Administration was contacted, according to a Washington State Patrol Twitter post

Although the highway is not closed, the WSP said drivers should expect delays as crews work at the scene, according to the post.

The scene is still active, and the WSP does not have any further details on the pilot’s identity or aircraft type at this time, according to the post. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Department will be the managing agency for this case.
