Moscow bicyclist dies in collision near Pullman

Driver sustained no injuries; drugs, alcohol were involved

A Moscow bicyclist died after a car struck him nine miles east of Pullman on Monday. 

Jason P. Wallace, 49, crossed into traffic on State Route 270 and was hit by a blue Toyota Highlander at around 8:45 p.m. He was not wearing reflective gear or a helmet, according to a Washington State Patrol press release

Wallace was pronounced dead at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, according to the press release.

Cynthia L. Anderson, 47, of Moscow, hit Wallace while driving at Milepost 9-3, but she was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries, according to the press release. Her car was dented and had a cracked windshield. 

The Washington State Patrol reports that drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the press release

The road became partially open at around 12:54 a.m. after being fully blocked at around 10:50 p.m., according to a WSP Twitter post. The WSP based in Colfax is leading the investigation on the case.
