As many high school seniors begin applying for college this month and hope to become future Cougs, WSU launched the Common App for fall 2023 applications.

WSU used the platform for international students during fall 2022 recruitment, but it is now opening the application for all of its first-year serving campuses, according to a WSU press release.

From the international program, WSU experienced an 88% increase in admissions last year, from 317-648 students, according to a WSU press release.

The university’s own application will be shorter and more concise for fall 2023 applicants. When students select their gender identity on the application, it will now allow them to choose gender-inclusive options, like X-non-binary, according to the press release.

These changes and the use of the Common App aim to increase enrollment after recent declines and make the application process more accessible to prospective students, according to the press release.

Prospective students can find WSU’s application or the Common App on the university’s admissions website.Â
