Applications are now fully open for the student loan forgiveness program.

Students who have borrowed loans can apply for up to $20,000 in debt cancelation, according to the Washington Post.

The Debt Relief section of the studentaid.gov website from The Department of Education will give you a short form that you will need to fill out and submit, the application will take less than 10 minutes to complete.

President Joe Biden said Monday during an announcement event, it landed and handled more than 8 million applications without a glitch or any difficulty.

For those who apply in October, The Department of Education is hoping that a large portion of the relief will come by the middle of November, according to USA Today.

Furthermore, the federal government said it is imperative that applications be completed by Nov. 15, to ensure that the relief is seen before the freezes in place from January are withdrawn, according to USA Today.

Although there are a series of lawsuits from conservative groups and Republican-led states, however, President Biden is confident that it will not affect the process of loan forgiveness.
