WSU club hockey showed that they will not be counted out this weekend, coming back from a disappointing loss in their previous matchup to topple University of Idaho 5-0.

WSU goalie Kane Paxton did not allow a single goal in the win, clocking another career shutout for the talented goalkeeper. He managed just one during the regular season.

Wazzu also saw success from forward Jake Landers. He provided a hat trick which became his fourth game this year in which he scored three or more goals. The team also saw goals from forward Ian Gould and defenseman Adam Beamish.

The Vandals managed to defeat WSU in the first game Friday after coming off an abysmal seven straight losses.

The turn-around win came at a great time, as the Cougs celebrated eight of their graduating seniors during their second game of the weekend, including captains Landers, Paxton and Logan Jentz.

This being their first games played in the new multi-million dollar Palouse Ice Rink in Moscow, the team invited both fans and parents to come to celebrate their season and their outgoing seniors.

Coming up, fans have more Cougar hockey to look forward to. The Cougs will take a week off and will once again face off against UI on the ice.
