In search of skills and talents for musicals, the Regional Theatre of the Palouse invites actors of all ages to open-call auditions for their next season of shows.

RTOP will hold auditions from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at their theater, located at 122 N. Grand Ave. in Pullman, said RTOP associate director Michael Todd.

“In addition to our award-winning titles and regional premieres is the collaboration that goes into every show, the civic engagement, artists of all disciplines from costume design, lighting, performers, choreographers, dancers are going to take part in the shows,” Todd said. “And so, it’s a real celebration that everyone can get behind.”

RTOP’s next season of shows include:

  • Damn Yankees, on stage Aug. 17–27
  • White Christmas, on stage Oct. 19–29
  • Anastasia, on stage Feb. 8–18, 2024
  • Beautiful the Carole King Musical, on stage April 11–21, 2024

The shows are a mix of classic, Golden-Age and modern musicals and regional premieres, Todd said. Between all four shows, there are about 100 roles available for onstage performers with about 25 roles for each show.

People interested in auditioning should prepare 16–32 bars of a musical theatre-style song, Todd wrote in an email. People unable to attend the auditions in person can send video submissions to [email protected].

Headshots and resumes are not required, but are encouraged, Todd wrote.

The auditions will also be a good place for people looking to volunteer backstage to drop in and meet the production team and staff, Todd said.

RTOP will also hold open hours from 5:30–6:30 p.m. July 8 at the theater for people to get information and ask questions about volunteering.
