The Pullman Regional Hospital Board of Commissioners has voted to approve the purchase of the Umpqua/Columbia Bank.

Alison Weigley, PRH external relations director, said the hospital purchased the property for $2.45 million dollars. The property is located at 795 SE Bishop Blvd.

“We purchased the building from Umpqua Bank,” Weigely said.

The property is 10,000 square feet and 2 acres. It is adjacent to the hospital’s main campus, according to a press release from Pullman Regional Hospital.

This project is not related to the local government entity’s hospital expansion project. Weigely said this project is involved with making space for other hospital projects.

“The investment will help the hospital reduce rented spaces that are currently being used for administrative functions,” Weigley said. “We will be putting other hospital administrative functions into the new property.”

Weigley said no significant remodeling of the building is currently planned, but they will be adding cubicles to maximize office space. The hospital sees this purchase as a benefit to the hospital due to its location in proximity to the main campus and large amount of parking space.

The press release says this project does not utilize any funds from the bond passed last year to “help fund $27.5 million towards new construction and remodeling to improve access, limit travel and decrease wait times for healthcare services.”
