Welcome back Cougs! I hope everyone had a good first month of the semester.

While winter is still among us, and the weather is only relatively nicer, there is still so much to do within the community this week. Go out and have fun, and soak in the above 50-degree weather.

Jeffrey Gibson: They Teach Love

  • What: Exhibition of work by internationally recognized artist Jeffrey Gibson
    When: 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tuesdays–Saturdays until March 9
  • Where: Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art

Here in a Homemade Forest: Common Reading Connections

  • What: Exhibition of work by Indigenous and non-Indigenous American artists inspired by the WSU common reading book “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer
  • When: 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tuesdays–Saturdays until March 9
  • Where: Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art 

Knit and Crochet Class

  • What: Beginners knitting and crochet classes
  • When: 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month until April 20
  • Where: Yard Underground in Moscow
  • Cost: $79 for four knitting classes; $69 for four crochet classes; materials included

Lil Skies

  • What: Live music featuring Lil Skies
  • When: 6 p.m. Feb. 2
  • Where: Compton Union Building Senior Ballroom

Winterfest

  • What: Family fun ’80s-themed block party with music, food, games and more
  • When: Noon Feb. 3
  • Where: Main Street in Moscow
  • Cost: $25 for 21+ wristbands

Symphony

  • What: Washington Idaho Symphony presents “Peter and the Wolf”
  • When: 3 p.m. Feb. 4
  • Where: UI Admin Auditorium
  • Cost: $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 12–18, free for children under 12 and WSU, UI, Lewis-Clark State College and Spokane Falls Community College students

Bingo

  • What: Bingo night with prizes and snacks
  • When: 6 p.m. Feb. 9
  • Where: Brelsford Visitor Center

Alexandria started working for the Evergreen in October 2020 as a news reporter and eventually hopped around to the roots/life, opinion and culture sections. BRANDON WILLMAN, Multimedia editor
Brandon Willman is a junior multimedia journalism student from Vancouver, Washington. He started working as a sportswriter for the Daily Evergreen in Fall 2022 and worked as copy editor in spring 2023. Brandon was elected to be the Editor-in-chief starting in summer 2023 and served in the position from May 2023 to February 2024 before transitioning to the role of multimedia editor. He enjoys watching sports, backpacking, and watching horror movies.
