As the 2024-25 school year comes to an end, we honor the senior athletes who have graduated from WSU and are leaving Pullman for bigger and better things. This is the 2024-25 Daily Evergreen senior athlete farewell series.
Kelvin Limo came to WSU as a distance runner from Eldoret, Kenya.
As a freshman, Limo started his career strong. He finished 50th in the Pac-12 Indoor Championship in the men’s 8K race, good enough to qualify for the NCAA regional championships. In the spring, he began competing in the steeplechase event and racked up five top-ten finishes, including second place at the Fresno State Invitational. He finished eighth in the steeplechase as a freshman in the Pac-12 Outdoor Championships and 16th at the NCAA regionals.
He improved in his sophomore and junior years. He added another second-place finish at the 2022 WSU XC Inviational, then won his first race in the 2023 WSU Alumni Invitational, winning the 6K.
Limo added another first-place finish to his resume when he won the 8K at the 2023 Cougar Classic Invitational.
In 2025 as a senior, Limo set a new personal best in the 3,000m steeplechase when he finished seventh in the Stanford Invitational with a time of 8:38.75.
