The WSU track and field team won 14 events at the Whitworth Last Chance meet.
Two of those wins came courtesy of sophomore sprinter Brooke Lyons, who won the 100m dash with a time of 11.56 seconds and the 200m dash with a time of 23.79 seconds.
Sarah Kovich won the 100m hurdles, her first win of the year, with a time of 14.77 seconds, a new personal best. John Paredes won the men’s 100m hurdles for WSU as well, with a time of 13.96.
Also on the track, the men’s 4x100m relay team won first place with a time of 39.39 seconds. Mason Lawyer won the 100m dash with a time of 10.21 seconds. Eysias Banks won the 400m hurdles in 53.73 seconds.
Sophomore pole vaulter Tatum Moku continued her impressive season, reaching 4.5 meters to capture the victory. It marked a new personal best, and the eighth-best height in the NCAA this season.
WSU also claimed both high jump victories. AJ McGloflin won the men’s high jump at 2.12 meters. Alexandra Gustavel won the women’s high jump, clearing 1.66 meters. Eli Lawrence, meanwhile, won the men’s triple jump.
The Cougars also took first place in both men’s and women’s discus. Nevaeh Wilson took the win in the women’s category, while Kai Twaddle-Dunham won it for the men.
Finally, Mason Andulajevic won the men’s hammer throw.
