“Good Night, and Good Luck” on Broadway will get its television debute on CNN at 7 p.m. ET June 7, proceeded and followed by discussions and reporting on the state of journalism.
In the Broadway show— based on the 2005 movie— George Clooney plays WSU alum Edward R. Murrow during his standoff against Sen. Joseph McCarthy in the 1950s. It opened April 3 and will leave Broadway June 8, making this one of the last shows.
The show— which has been nominated for five Tony Awards— has been widely praised among seasoned journalists and Broadway regulars alike.
Murrow attended WSU— then called Washington State College— from 1926 to 1930, graduating with a bachlor’s degree in speech.
