On June 1, the Office of the Chancellor for Washington State University Pullman will be dissolved and President Elizabeth Cantwell will take direct control over the WSU Pullman campus.
According to WSU Insider, the move was recommended by current WSU Chancellor Dave Cillay as part of the school’s efforts to improve its financial and operational efficiency.
Beginning on Sunday, Cantwell will have direct oversight over the flagship campus of WSU.
“As we look to optimize system functionality, this structural change will ultimately provide better support and alignment for our students, faculty, staff, and programs,” said Cantwell.
Student Affairs and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will now be joining the Office of the Provost.
“I want to extend a sincere thanks to Chancellor Cillay for his willingness to step in as the chancellor of our flagship campus, and his concerted efforts to build community partnerships over the past year,” said Cantwell. “WSU Pullman is stronger because of his leadership.”

A great move. Glad to see the new President eliminate unnecessary administrative bloat.
