Cougar Nation support continued as Pullman advanced to the ‘Round of Four’ Oct. 3 after very narrowly beating Madison, WI in Barstool Sports’ national “Best College Town” competition.
Barstool’s final four bracket pits Pullman against Knoxville, Tennessee, with voting set to open Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. EST. Barstool representatives will be holding a live voting party in Pullman as part of the semifinal competition, according to a post.
The details of the live voting event will be shared in coming days according to Barstool Wazzu. As the competition nears a close, national social media attention and Cougar pride will continue to spread on the Palouse.
The competition kicked off Sep. 8 with a round of 64. Pullman’s winning streak so far also includes victories over Tuscaloosa, AL, and Bozeman, MT. Voting has occurred solely on social media until this round, and is driven by Washington State University students, alumni, and community members.
Following fan votes, the competition between Pullman and Knoxville will see the winning town moving on to the championship round.
The winner, named America’s ‘Best College Town,’ will win a party presented by Stella Blue Coffee and paid for by Barstool, according to a post.
