Leigh Purser Frost, known across campus as “McLovin,” met with The Daily Evergreen to give insight into his experience at WSU.
Days after the interview, Purser Frost, 31, was placed in jail without bail.
Purser Frost believes due to his limited criminal history, the chance of him being in serious trouble is low. However, he also acknowledged that there is a “fine line” between what the courts will be lenient towards and what they will not.
“If I’m buying all these girls alcohol, it would be a little bit of a problem,” Purser Frost said. “This stuff though, will just get dismissed.”
Following various disruptions across campus, Purser Frost was trespassed from all areas of WSU.
According to Purser Frost, WSU suspended him because “they were so overwhelmed from the whole nine yards of me being so depressed, that they thought it’d settle everything down.”
Purser Frost originally came to WSU in April in an attempt to enroll for the summer semester at WSU.
Mercy Ngeusang, one of Purser Frosts’ medical practitioners, said “Summer was an outlier…I do not know him to be violent.”
“If you look at it, it’s how everything is worded,” Purser Frost said when questioned on the document listing out his offenses. “It’s very easy for perception to get taken way too far out of context.”
One of Purser Frost’s most notorious actions has been allegedly stalking people and following them home. Purser Frost’s response to this claim was that when people are drunk, they are more likely to see him as stalking them.
“When you’re walking as much as I do, oftentimes when alcohol is in the picture, people are going to perceive you walking as [following them],” Purser Frost said.
Purser Frost plans on enrolling at WSU for the spring semester. Even if WSU refuses him, he will appeal it and continue to try to be enrolled at WSU.
“People cannot get into schools right now, so why should [I] have to leave?” Purser Frost said.
According to Purser Frost, some people have told him that due to WSU being an “autism-based research institution,” if he stays, he will “get to the finish line.”
Pam Scott, WSU’s Vice President of System Communications and Strategy, said “the application process to Washington State University is an open process, meaning anyone can apply.”
In an interview with Murrow News 8, Purser Frost was quoted to “rage bait” people at WSU.
“I honestly didn’t know what rage baiting was,” Purser Frost said. “I think for me, it’s quite funny when these frat boys get all mad when they’re trying to get at me for a reaction and I just laugh and say ‘you’re such a good boy.’”
According to Purser Frost, one of his doctors in Seattle said “you can go start [issues] and say ‘help, I’m autistic, don’t hurt me,’ and [you won’t get in trouble.]” Due to tendencies caused by employing this tactic at protests, Purser Frost believes this is why people think he rage baits people.
Starting college at 25, Purser Frost was enrolled in three educational institutions prior to his attempted enrollment at WSU. According to two of the three institutions, the University of Nebraska Omaha and Wayne State College, Purser Frost had no prior issues with conduct.
Purser Frost’s biggest issues, he claims, are autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression. Ultimately, these issues are what caused him to leave his previous institutions.
“I always had something going on in my health or personal life,” Purser Frost said. “It was never academic misconduct.”
If Purser Frost is able to enroll at WSU, he will likely remain on campus for at least three years. The degree he is trying to pursue is digital technology and culture with a focus on audiovisual cinema and a minor in music business and production.
The nickname of “McLovin” is one that Purser Frost acknowledges across social media, such as on his SoundCloud account, where he uploads music. Purser Frost believes that this nickname is primarily due to how he sounds and the fact that he raps.
“When you have someone that already sounds like McLovin and then he does rapping, it’s like, what the hell is going on?” Purser Frost said. “But my name is definitely not McLovin.”
Purser Frost is currently still in Whitman County Jail for the charges of criminal trespass in the second degree, assault in the fourth degree and harassment.

As an alumni, I don’t know the specifics. Regardless, I burst out laughing reading the headline, subhead and photo tag.

I appreciate keeping this unbiased and respectful and hope you’ll update the community on what happens with his pending charges.

More great journalism from the Daily Evergreen–no explanation of what this man has been accused of. I know when I read the news, I want to hear about a serial harasser’s perspective on his behavior without any acknowledgement of what he’s done, or to hear the perspectives of any of the many many people affected by his actions. Not even a brief rundown. I don’t want any interrogation of what the things he said mean or any commentary on whether his quotes line up with the observable pattern of behavior. And I always want that article to take up half a page with a one-third page photo of the man. Keep up the great work!

Why is WSU once again giving attention to abusers instead of victims?
This man notoriously stalks, degrades, and grooms young girls.
I have never seen a university so dedicated to silencing women and creating a culture of violence.
Very disappointing

why would you give him a platform? I’ve had several extremely uncomfortable encounters with him. I get that he probably needs help, but this is not helping him realize that his behavior is inappropriate.
