Just days after WSU announced its decision to part ways with Athletic Director Anne McCoy, there is a new media rights deal in place.
The Pac-12 inked a package with USA Network that will provide fans with more opportunities to watch Pac-12 sporting events.
The news broke on ESPN on Thursday. USA Network will televise 22 football games, 50 men’s basketball games, and up to 10 women’s basketball games. They will also televise every round of the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball tournament until the championship game, which will be broadcast on CBS.
In addition, the Pac-12 already had a deal in place with the CW to air 13 football games and a deal with CBS to air three football games. That means a total of 38 football games per year will be made available between the CW, CBS, and USA Network. It averages out to 4.75 home games per Pac-12 school, and it likely means all 28 Pac-12 conference games will be televised on cable TV in 2026, in addition to at least one non-conference home game per school.
The games on USA Network will be produced by Pac-12 Enterprises.
The deal runs through the 2030-31 season. The short-term deal will give the Pac-12 a home for the next five years while it rebuilds, and the conference can re-evaluate its value after that.
