WSU athletics announced the hiring of Molly Rouse as an assistant coach for the soccer team. Rouse has spent the last three seasons at Ole Miss, where she amassed a record of 16-28-7. This past season Ole Miss went 4-8-3 with Rouse in charge.
Prior to Ole Miss, Rouse coached for the Utah Tech Trailblazers for three seasons. Where she oversaw Utah Tech make the move from Division II to Division I. She brought the Trailblazers their first win at the D-1 level, against Chico State in 2021 winning 4-0. In 2022 she helped lead Utah Tech to a 10-6-2 record earning a four seed in the Western Atlantic Conference (WAC) tournament.
Additionally in that season the Trailblazers led the WAC in goals against average and goals allowed, opponents only scored 14 goals in 18 games equaling a 0.78 GAA for the Trailblazers. Nine shutouts were recorded for the Trailblazers that season, including a seven game shutout streak.
In her three seasons at Utah Tech she led the Trailblazers to 19 wins and saw four players named to All-WAC honors.
She also served two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, where they won a Big Ten conference title including a win over a number 15 ranked Penn State.
Rouse joins a WSU coaching staff built around former Montana head coach Chris Citowicki, as they prepare for year one in the new-look Pac-12.
