Aquatic Cougs senior Emily Lundgren and sophomore Darcy Revitt will hit the pool in Atlanta on March 19, 20 and 21 to show off the swimming talent that Washington State has to offer.
Lundgren will swim the 100 and 200-meter breaststroke on Thursday and Friday while Revitt will swim the 50 and 100-meter freestyle on Friday and Saturday. Both are no strangers to Nationals, with Revitt making her second appearance and Lundgren making her fourth, and final, appearance. She’s the first ever swimmer in school history to qualify for Nationals all four years.
Lundgren holds four school records in the 100 and 200-meter breaststroke (58.83 and 2:06.18), 100-meter fly (52.60), and the 200-meter (1:57.81). Last year in Federal Way, Lundgren finished No. 6 in the 200-meter breaststroke, which is the best result in Cougar history. She posted 18 individual wins this year and 59 in her total career.
Revitt qualified for Nationals due to an outstanding performance at the Mountain West Championships winning both the 50 (21.83) and 100-meter freestyle (47.45). She now holds the school record for those events. She also won 20 individual events this year, which is a team best.
University of Virginia is looking to win its sixth straight National Championship, the only team to win since the COVID-19 pandemic. Virginia won the ACC with 786 points, a hundred and twenty four more than runners up and former force to be reckoned with Stanford.
You can catch the action on ESPN+ every day until Saturday when the events wrap up starting at 7 a.m PST for preliminaries and 3 p.m PST for the finals.
