On Monday, Washington State outfielder Matt Priest was named the Mountain West Conference freshman of the week for the second week in a row.
Priest has cemented himself as the left fielder and top of the order bat for the Cougars after a stellar last two weeks. He is now the first Cougar to take home back-to-back freshman of the week awards.
Priest started off his week with a bang, actually two bangs, homering twice against Gonzaga on Wednesday.
In the series against Nevada, Priest continued his torrid stretch, hitting .500 along with a walk, two hit by pitches and a stolen base.

WSU outfielder Matt Priest makes a swing against Nevada baseball, March 28, 2026.
His performances helped WSU go 1-3 this week against two teams near the top of their respective conference standings (Gonzaga and Nevada).
In total, Priest mashed .563 over the week, including two home runs, 10 RBIs and four runs scored.
The freshman is now hitting .323 on the season, and leads WSU in slugging percentage with a .538. He has three home runs and 19 RBIs, tied for the team lead in both categories.
