The end of the year is officially coming to a close. Many students are excited for graduation, while others are sad their school year is ending.
With dead week having passed, students are trying to balance studying for their finals while still finding time to cherish their last moments with their friends.
Student Jordan Slaughter said it has been a long year.
“My finals aren’t too bad. I’m definitely excited for summer, it’s been a long year,” Slaughter said. “We’re going to Hawaii right after school gets out.”
Travels are one thing students are looking forward to when leaving, but for others it is also employment.
“I’m excited to go home to see my family and my dog and start working cause I’m broke,” student Victoria Poletiek said.
Other students said they are looking ahead to the fall semester, when they can expand their involvement in Greek life and welcome new members into their organizations.
“I’m really sad that the school year is ending, and I’m just gonna work this summer,” student Karli Amada said. “I’m so excited to recruit my little next year.”
Many Greek chapters are preparing to recruit new members in the fall, giving current students the opportunity to expand their Greek families.
With the spring 2026 graduation ceremony approaching, senior Mckayla Costillo said she is reflecting on the end of her time in college and that chapter officially coming to a close.
“It feels bittersweet knowing this chapter is ending, but I’m really excited for the new opportunities and growth ahead. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and ready to see what’s next,” Costillo said.
Many students are sad to see the school year end while others feel bittersweet. Still, many said Pullman will always feel like a second home.
