Governor Bob Ferguson has appointed Nicole Anthony to the WSU Board of Regents as the new student regent. Anthony, a senior from the Global Campus, will serve a one-year term from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
According to her regent profile, Anthony is committed to supporting and advancing education. Her commitment includes training professionals and designing curriculum.
“She has been grounded in one central commitment: improving the well-being of children and expanding the opportunities available to them,” her profile says. “That commitment has taken many forms, including supporting college access, developing youth leadership, training youth-serving professionals, designing curriculum, and creating learning experiences that help adults better serve children and families.
Anthony is the first student regent from the Global Campus since WSU Global began in 2012. She replaces former student regent Amina Hussein.
The Board of Regents is WSU’s governing body responsible for supervising, coordinating, managing and regulating the WSU System and all of its six campuses. The board consists of 11 members, including a student regent and a faculty regent, each appointed by the governor.
Student regents hold the same rights and voting privileges as all members, except for votes relating to the hiring, sanctioning and tenure of faculty and personnel.
