Alleged assault on female at WSU fraternity

By staff reports

The mother of a 20-year-old Pullman resident called police Sunday, reporting that her daughter was assaulted at a fraternity over the weekend.

Cmdr. Chris Tennant said the victim was dancing at an unknown fraternity with a male, who allegedly grabbed her by the throat and started choking her.

Police were able to talk to the alleged victim, who did have marks on her throat. They don’t have extensive information regarding the case at this time, but investigators will check back in a few days to see if she wants to pursue a criminal investigation.

Tennant said the assault was not sexual in nature. He assumed the victim was a WSU student, but could not confirm based on the report.
