Police search for witness after biker crashes

Pullman Police are searching for a potential witness to a bicycle crash on Grand Avenue on Sunday morning.

A 60-year-old man was biking down Center Street towards Grand Avenue when his brakes failed causing him to ride across Grand, Pullman PD Cmdr. Chris Tennant said.

The man avoided any collisions before crashing in the parking lot of Pullman Fire Station No. 1 at about 10 a.m., where firefighters began administering medical attention, Tennant said. The man was then transported to Pullman Regional Hospital before being transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for further care for severe head injuries.

Police are now searching for a potential witness in a tan Chevrolet Silverado, according to the release. The bicyclist was transported by helicopter to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane for serious injuries.

Anyone with information on the potential witness is asked to contact the Pullman Police Department.Â
