A 6-year-old Pullman boy has passed away from his injuries suffered during a bicycle crash near Short Street and Parr Drive on Sunday.

Denny Curran died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, according to a Facebook post by his father Keith. Pullman Police confirmed Curran’s passing.

Curran had been riding with a group of children at about 3:45 p.m. when he fell, Pullman PD Cmdr. Chris Tennant said. The handlebars on the bicycle struck Curran in the stomach area causing the injuries. Those injuries were a torn artery and laceration in his abdomen, according to another Facebook post by his father. Paramedics arrived on scene and began performing CPR before transferring him to Pullman Regional Hospital.

Curran was then flown to Spokane for further treatment before passing away this morning, Tennant said.

Pullman Public Schools will provide counseling services to students and other impacted community members at Franklin Elementary, where Curran was a kindergarten student, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Facebook post.
