Men’s golf will open its 2018-19 season Monday at the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Colorado State University will be hosting 17 teams. WSU and Colorado are the only teams from the Pac-12.

Most of the Cougars are returning from last year. Freshman Daisuke Nakano is the only new addition to the team.

Last year, the team opened the season at home and set multiple school records.

Senior AJ Armstrong, junior Daniel Kolar and senior Grant Cole are returning members from the team that set the school record for a single-round team score with a 266 (-18) in the third round.

On opening day, junior Nicklaus Chiam set a WSU record for lowest round with a 62 (-9) in the second round, according to WSU Athletics.

At the Pac-12 championships last season, the team had its best finish in school history at seventh place. Armstrong, Cole and Bayley tied for 23rd with 283 (-1), and Cole had the eighth-best scoring average in school history with 72.63, according to WSU Athletics.

This will be WSU’s first year participating in the Ram Masters Invitational. The teams will start play 8 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.
