Bus reportedly carrying UW Marching Band to Apple Cup rolls over

Preliminary report indicates no serious injuries

A charter bus reportedly carrying the University of Washington Husky Marching Band to Pullman for Friday’s Apple Cup has rolled over on Interstate 90 near George, Washington.

Initial reports have indicated the bus was carrying members of the Husky Marching Band. John Bryant, Washington State Patrol district trooper, said he heard the bus was carrying marching band members, but could not confirm this report because he has not yet arrived on scene.

The bus was one of three traveling together when it went off the roadway, he said.

“One of them went off the roadway, possibly because the conditions are a bit icy and rolled on its side,” Bryant said. “It is not blocking the main road, but it is blocking some frontage roads the locals and farm equipment use.”

Bryant said he was not sure how many people were on board the 60 passenger bus at the time of the crash. He also said a trooper that had already arrived on scene reported there were no serious injuries.
