Pullman’s Friends of Hospice will hold an open house for its new end-of-life facility on Dec. 15.

The facility, called Serenity House, will be located at 1125 SE Sandalwood Drive in Pullman, according to a news release from Friends of Hospice Director Annie Pillers. The facility aims to serve “adults in their last weeks of life who are on hospice and remain on hospice during their stay at Serenity House.”

However, the facility cannot admit “individuals who need skilled nursing outside of the Medicare hospice provider or bariatric care services.”

A public open house with tours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 15, according to the release. Around-the-clock care will be provided at the facility, which includes meals, medication and other comfort services. The house will have private rooms and staff will work with the Omega Home Network to provide necessary medical treatments.

Serenity House will also provide a garden, patio and deck for patients to use during their stay. A media day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 14, where the board of directors and Serenity House staff will be available for interviews and photos.

The house in Pullman represents Omega Home Network’s first facility in Eastern Washington, according to the release.
