Two Cougars complete WSU’s indoor track season Friday

The two athletes representing WSU at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday fell just short of advancing to the finals.

A high seed heading into the men’s 60-meter dash, junior Emmanuel Wells Jr. finished 15th with a time of 6.67 seconds.

Advancing to the 60-meter finals from the Pac-12 was Oregon senior Cravon Gillespie. Gillespie clocked a 6.61 second race.

Florida advanced three runners to the finals in the event and Florida State advanced two.

A lower seed heading into the championships, redshirt junior Paul Ryan finished 16th in the men’s mile with a time of 4:12.07.

WSU’s outdoor track and field season will kick off at the USC Trojan Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Loker Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
