The two athletes representing WSU at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday fell just short of advancing to the finals.

A high seed heading into the men’s 60-meter dash, junior Emmanuel Wells Jr. finished 15th with a time of 6.67 seconds.

Advancing to the 60-meter finals from the Pac-12 was Oregon senior Cravon Gillespie. Gillespie clocked a 6.61 second race.

Florida advanced three runners to the finals in the event and Florida State advanced two.

A lower seed heading into the championships, redshirt junior Paul Ryan finished 16th in the men’s mile with a time of 4:12.07.

WSU’s outdoor track and field season will kick off at the USC Trojan Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Loker Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
