Student pleads guilty to stealing nude images

From staff reports

After being charged with a gross misdemeanor and a Class C felony, a 21-year-old WSU student pleaded guilty on Wednesday to texting himself nude photos from a 19-year-old female student’s phone in September.

Whitman County Superior Court sentenced WSU student Matthew Parsons to 17 days in jail, two years of unsupervised probation and a $700 fine.

Parsons texted himself nude images after he was hired to fix the victim’s phone screen, according to Inland Northwest News. When the victim got her phone back, she noticed the images of herself were texted to an unknown number. Parsons was charged with disclosing intimate images and electronic data theft, WSU Assistant Police Chief Steve Hansen said.
