Coug baseball deals with poor weather

From staff reports

Due to the accumulation of snow on Wednesday night, which resulted in unfavorable playing conditions on Thursday, the WSU baseball team will kick off its series opener with Utah Valley today.

The new schedule for this weekend’s series includes a 3 p.m. game today, a double-header starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, to make up for Thursday’s postponed game, and the series finale at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the second consecutive Cougars series that has been affected by weather, after last Saturday’s double-header with Stephen F. Austin was pushed back a day due to snow.

The Cougars (6-4) have faced adverse weather conditions in three out of four series this season. In the season opening series with Sacramento State, the Cougars saw one game postponed and one game cancelled, and then the team faced postponements at home against SFA and Utah Valley.

Assuming that all four games will be played, the starters for the series will likely be junior right-hander Ryan Walker, redshirt junior left-hander Damon Jones, another junior lefty Cody Anderson and freshman left-hander A.J. Block.

All four games can be watched on the WSU live stream on the Pac-12 Networks.
