The Chamber of Commerce is accepting volunteers to run different activities at the 44th annual Fourth of July event to begin at 5 p.m. at Sunnyside Park in Pullman, which will conclude with a fireworks show.

Regan Donaldson, event coordinator for the Pullman Chamber of Commerce, said this is the last call for Pullman’s Fourth of July Celebration volunteers.

About 25 people have signed up to volunteer their time so far, and the goal is to have at least 40 volunteers for this year’s event, Donaldson said.

“The ideal [number] will be around 100 volunteers to have somebody to do different volunteer opportunities,” she said.

Donaldson said the volunteers will be working at the food lines, beverage shelter or will supervise children at the bouncy castle and slides.

Several foods can be purchased at the event like popcorn, cotton candy and BBQ entrees, according to the press release.

Additional tasks people can assist with will be setting up for the event, and then cleaning up after people at the park once the event is over, she said.

They also need volunteers who can be parking lot attendants at the event, Donaldson said.

Live entertainment such as the Community Band of the Palouse, Radio Host Dan Maher and other shows are scheduled to run. A fireworks show will follow the live entertainment.

Donaldson said people can email [email protected] or call the Chamber of Commerce to sign up to volunteer for the Fourth of July event.
